We're looking for Chili Cooks!

Got a great chili recipe? Then sign up below for the Chili Cook-Off. Cost is just $20 for the first recipe you enter, then $15 for each additional recipe after that. You get up to 3 Unlimited Chili Tasting Kits for you and your booth workers too! It's a fun way to enjoy the event. See more details and contest rules below. 

General Rules/Registration

  1. There will be 5 awarded categories: â€‹A.)  Best  Hot and Spicy Chili B.) Best Homestyle Chili C.) Best Vegetarian Chili D.) People's Choice Award  E.) Best Decorated Booth.

  2. You can enter more than 1 chili if you wish. Entry fee is $20 for 1 dish, and $15 for each additional dish entered. Contest is limited to the first 40 entries. Entries must be received by May 1st, 2016.

  3. Your Entry fee covers up to 3 Unlimited Chili Tasting Kits for people working your booth. All other helpers and participants must buy an attendee ticket at http://bit.ly/wcrchili16

  4. Set up is from 10-12 pm. Chili must be hot and ready for judges by 12:15 pm.

  5. Chili must be prepared off premises. Bring approximately 3 gallons or more.

  6. Contestants will be provided plastic containers, napkins and spoons for your booth.

  7. Bring your own setup including table (if you have one, o therwise we have some), chairs, propane stove (or crockpot if you don't have propane), and shade tents. Some booths will have electricity available. Please bring extension cords if you need power.

  8. Have fun decorating your space! You are encouraged to decorate your booth, promote your team name, and have fun!  Table decorations may need to beremoved if they are deemed as a fire hazard.

  9. Attendees will be admitted for tasting beginning 12:00 pm. Cost for a wristband for unlimited chili samples is $10 per person ($8 Early bird ticket available online until May 1st). Advanced tickets can be purchased at http://bit.ly/wcrchili16. 

  10. We will provide you with a jar to place your tickets for the people's choice voting in.

  11. Judging will be made to conceal team identities from the judges during tasting of the chili. Each team will be assigned a number and marked container to submit a sample to be judged. Teams are not allowed to mark containers with their names or any other identification mark. Discovery of identification will be subject to team disqualification.

  12. Sponsors and contestants are not allowed in the judging area at any time prior to completion of judging.

  13. Judges will score the entries for taste, texture and consistency, spices, color/eye appeal and aroma on a scale of 10. The highest possible score is 40. This will determine 1st place. In the event of tie, the judges will re-taste and cast a tie-breaker vote. The decision of the judges is final.

  14. People's choice will be based on number of tasting tickets (ends at 3pm).Contestants not adhering to these rules may be disqualified.
